Karen S. was born, raised, and has lived most of the last half century in St. Mary’s County. She has an active life as an avid hiker, quilter, dirt rearranger/bush planter, animal lover, cheeseburger eater, reader, sunrise watcher, and EMT. She has lived the Mary Poppins lifestyle and spent her life “filling in” at jobs to accommodate her hobbies. As she grew up on the perimeter of the family farm, Karen had a childhood filled with animals all around: dogs, cats, chickens, cows, goats, guinea pigs, hamsters, sisters, and cousins. At college and on vacations, she took in the local strays. As an adult, Karen has mothered 5 dogs, 4 cats, and some feline fosters, one of which failed. She currently has only 1 cat, which has been a client of Trails End since 2015, and is actively searching for her next barking babe. Karen has been visiting pets for Trails End in the Lexington Park and Great Mills areas since September 2019.
